Tugrul Giray

Tugrul Giray is a honey bee researcher with interest in ecological genetics and behavioral physiology of honey bees.  His research on honey bee health has begun in 2006-2007 with the bee losses in Turkey.  Most recently Giray lab also examined the impact of climate change related severe disturbances on honey bees, following the 2017 Hurricanes Irma and Maria in Puerto Rico.

Tugrul Giray's position and lab is at the University of Puerto Rico, San Juan, PR.  Giray established his lab on honey bee research in 2000.  Since 2014 he is full professor, and the director of the Department of Biology where his lab is located.
