About | I am a PhD Entomology, University of Pretoria holder. I have worked on stingless bees and honey bees since my masters project in 2008. I am highly interested in bee/stingless bee taxonomy, metagenomics, molecular biology, apiculture (honey bee keeping) and meliponiculture (stingless be keeping). I have experience in Apiculture and meliponicuture, which i have gained through trainings, as i am a member of Commercial Insect Programme here at icipe. Though most of my work has been on stingless bee, taxonomy, chemotaxonomy and genomics, i believe the same tools can be applied to study stingless bees. Currently, i am employed as a postdoctoral consultant at ICIPE, working on stingless bee taxonomy in Africa. Training farmers on the meliponiculture, in the African Island nations, including, Zanzibar and Madagascar. I look forward to join the group and work, and learn from other members. Thank you in advance, Nelly Ndungu, PhD |
