About

Adrián de la Fuente Ballesteros studied for a BSc in Chemistry at the University of Valladolid (Spain). Subsequently, he pursued several MScs in Education and Teaching, Advanced Techniques in Chemistry, Scientific Dissemination, and Artificial Intelligence and Innovation. Later, he began his thesis in the area of Analytical Chemistry (Food Science). His research to date has primarily focused on the development and validation of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry methods for studying pesticides in bee products such as beeswax, honey, pollen, royal jelly, and propolis. This has resulted in more than 10 publications, over 30 conference contributions, book chapters, and several international collaborations with prestigious universities.

Despite his youth, his great versatility and potential have led him to win several awards in science. For example, he was selected to be a member of the Nova Talent Network, the largest platform that includes only the top 3% of talent in Spain. Additionally, he received the IMFAHE excellence scholarship for the best candidate in sciences from the University of Valladolid, which enabled him to carry out a research stay at McGill University (Canada). He has also received the University Commitment Award from the Schola Foundation. Recently, he was a finalist for the EuChemS Young Chemists’ Award from the European Chemical Society, a recognition awarded to the best young talents doing outstanding research in Chemistry. He is a curious young researcher with initiative who is passionate about learning and then sharing it with the world.
